More about QHSE

Our promise
We believe that a strong QHSE culture leads to sustainable growth, satisfied customers, and a safe working environment. That is why we continuously invest in our people, processes, and systems to meet the highest standards—and exceed them where possible.
To ensure that the above is embedded in the long term, Robust Structures strives for continuous improvement in quality, health, safety, and the environment (QHSE). This is achieved by setting objectives at board and management level and providing them with action plans and the necessary resources. This is communicated appropriately to the organization and the working method is safeguarded and continuously monitored in our integrated business management system.
Quality
We supply high-quality steel structures that comply with all applicable standards and the specific requirements of our customers. Our quality is guaranteed by a certified quality management system (ISO 9001) and additional certifications such as EN 1090 (EXC2/3/4) and ISO 3834 for welding processes.
By working in a process-oriented manner, carrying out internal and external checks, and actively contributing ideas for improvements, we ensure a consistently high level of quality. Deviations are reported and analyzed immediately, enabling us to continuously learn and improve.

Health & Safety
Safety comes first – for our employees, partners, and the environment in which we work. Our policy focuses on prevention, clear working procedures, and active employee involvement through training, toolbox meetings, and our own safety awareness program, Rob Ust.
We are certified according to ISO 45001, VCA Petrochemicals, and Safety Culture Ladder Level 3. This means that safety is not only laid down in rules, but is also visible in our daily behavior and our corporate culture.

Safety Awareness Program
Robust Structures has established a safety awareness campaign called Rob Ust. This campaign is used to increase safety awareness and safety culture within the organization. This campaign is intended for personnel in production, projects, and the office. Through an attractive and educational approach, it increases knowledge in the area of awareness and behavior among employees, which will have positive effects on overall safety.
Environment
We actively take responsibility for the impact of our activities on the environment. Through smart use of materials, waste separation, energy-efficient machines, and transport, we reduce our CO₂ emissions and limit our environmental impact. Our goal is to improve our environmental performance, reduce our environmental impact, and comply with environmental legislation. This leads to more sustainable business operations, cost savings, a stronger brand image, and new business opportunities.

CO2 performance ladder
At Robust Structures, we believe that strength and sustainability are inextricably linked. As a steel constructor, we are aware of the impact our activities have on the environment. That is why we take our responsibility seriously and work every day to reduce our CO₂ emissions, so that together we can build a sustainable future. Read more about this in Robust Structures’ Sustainability and CO₂ Reduction Plan.
At Robust Structures, we not only build strong steel structures, but also a sustainable future. That is why we actively participate in the CO₂ Performance Ladder, the Netherlands’ leading sustainability tool that helps organizations reduce their CO₂ emissions. Read more about this in the Sustainability and CO₂ Reduction Plan.
Our certifications

ISO 9001 – Quality management
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems. It helps organizations improve processes, increase customer satisfaction, andensure product or service quality.

ISO 14001 – Environmental management
This standard focuses on controlling and improving environmental performance. ISO 14001 helps organizations minimize their environmental impact, such as waste, energy consumption and emissions.

ISO 45001 – Occupational health and safety
ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety (OHS). Its purpose is to prevent accidents, health complaints, and work-related incidents and to promote the well-being of employees.

VCA-P – Safety management for high-risk environments
VCA-P is a variant of the standard VCA certification, specifically intended for companies that carry out work in the petrochemical industry. The aim is to structurally promote safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious working practices (HSE). The P version sets stricter requirements than the standard VCA**, particularly in the areas of risk management, training, and behavioral awareness.

SCL Trede 3 – Safety Culture Ladder
The Safety Culture Ladder (SCL) measures and promotes safety awareness and behavior within organizations. Step 3 means that safety is not only regulated through rules and procedures, but that safe behavior is visible in the company culture.

EN 1090 (CE) – Steel structures (up to EXC4)
EN 1090 is a European standard for the production of load-bearing steel and aluminum structures. CE marking in accordance with EN 1090 is mandatory for companies that supply structural components in Europe. EXC stands for Execution Class, ranging from EXC1 (simple structures) to EXC4 (critical applications, such as bridges or high-rise buildings). EXC3 covers complex and heavily loaded structures, such as those used in commercial construction, industry, and petrochemicals.

ISO 3834 – Welding processes
ISO 3834 is an international standard for quality assurance of welding processes. This standard is often required when welding structures in accordance with EN 1090.

Sustainability and CO2 reduction plan
This sustainability and CO2 reduction plan describes our current CO2 footprint, the reduction targets we have set ourselves, and the measures we are taking to achieve these goals.

Declaration of participation in industry initiatives
Robust Structures hereby declares that it actively participates in several industry initiatives and platforms aimed at reducing CO2 emissions within the construction sector.

co₂ Aware certificate level 3
Robust structures is certified at co₂ aware certificate level 3 under the co₂ prestatieladder 3.1. This certification confirms that co₂ awareness and emission reduction are structurally embedded in our organization and our way of working.
