Robust Structures provided the engineering and turnkey construction of a sustainable distribution center for supermarket chain Hoogvliet on the Prisma industrial estate in Bleiswijk.
The state-of-the-art distribution center was built using the latest techniques and has a total surface area of 72,000 m², with the possibility of a further 10,000 m² extension. The project was completed with a BREEAM certificate rating of Outstanding*. What’s more, this project earned us the Construsoft BIM Awards 2020 in the Industrial Projects category!
The steel structure of the distribution center is light and efficient, and the building is equipped with energy-efficient installations and cooling techniques, underground thermal energy storage, solar panels on the roof, and a gray water circuit. The DC is finished with a three-meter concrete plinth, topped with sandwich panels.
